Food labelling.

During the shopping do  you concerning  what  kind of food you are looking for or whatever this food will be healthy?  If  not don't worry  because the guys from FSA (Food Standard Agency) will definitely try give you all options of labels that you can chose from what is right for you

I love them for that, you know guys how it is to be on the diet...is so hard, you stress and the worst part of the diet is to do a shopping! I have definitely sweat tooth and I love crisps then for me the shopping was like a hell, but since I discover food labelling is just fun. I don't know how you guys feel about FSA and they great idea but they gave me so big satisfaction of making the right choices.
But....
Do you think food labelling could lead some of the companies/products to losing their customers?

For example, you go to the store with the intention of buying a package of crisps. Do you change your mind if you see that on one label of the parcels is less fat than the other package? I think your answer is yes. Now the question arises whether our knowledge is sufficient in order to make decisions which product is better than another?

Only because one of the parcels was less fat than the other is not marked the first package healthier, maybe because the salt level was so high that it will be better for our bodies to have some more fat then more salt.

Please tell me what you think about that.

  1. I definitely check for food labelling in a few of the products I buy. When it comes to things like biscuits and crisps I dont really take notice because I dont eat too much of them anyway and they're only small.

The product that concerns me the most when food shopping are ready meals. I dont usually have them but when I do I specifically look out for the one with the least salt. Or actually I look at the amount of green, orange and red colours on the label and then make my mind up by choosing the one with less red.

I do think that labelling can cost some products money but then it should make the food's makers to change the way their food is made which in the long term is positive.

I believe with certain food, people are too loyal to them to change because of the labelling. eg. I would not buy a pack of custard creams because they have less calories than a packof maryland cookies because thats just not what i feel like eating.
